Help & Information

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear information about our business research services, the information we review, how assignments are agreed and what to expect from a written research report.

01 Services & Scope

What does Greenfield Enquiries Ltd provide?

We provide business background research and commercial information verification. Depending on the agreed assignment, this may include reviewing publicly available company records, published business information and relevant materials lawfully supplied by the client.

The purpose is to organise relevant information, identify inconsistencies and present findings in a clear written report.

What types of research can I request?

Depending on the information available and the agreed scope, requests may include:

  • Company background and registration details.
  • Review of published business identity information.
  • Supplier or commercial partner background research.
  • Comparison of information across available sources.
  • Review of specific commercial information supplied for checking.

We will explain whether a request can be undertaken before confirming the assignment.

Do you guarantee that a business is trustworthy?

No. Research can help organise and assess available information, but it cannot guarantee another business’s honesty, future conduct, financial position or commercial performance.

Findings are limited to the sources reviewed, the agreed scope and the information available at the time of research.

Is your report legal advice or a statutory audit?

No. Our business research reports are not legal advice, statutory audits, regulated professional opinions or a substitute for specialist advice where that is needed. Any limitations relevant to an assignment will be explained as appropriate.

02 Requests & Process

How do I submit a research request?

Use our Contact page to provide the organisation’s name, relevant identifying details, your main research questions and any relevant supporting information. Please only submit information you are entitled to share.

Does submitting the contact form confirm an assignment?

No. A submitted enquiry is a request for discussion, not an automatic acceptance of work, confirmed booking or payment obligation. We first review the request and clarify the scope, fee, delivery expectations and applicable terms.

The assignment proceeds only after the necessary details have been agreed and confirmation has been provided.

What information should I provide?

Please provide enough detail to identify the organisation and explain the questions you want the research to address. This may include a company registration number, official website, relevant jurisdiction or documents you are authorised to share.

We may request clarification before confirming the scope. Please avoid sending unrelated personal information or confidential material that is not needed for the assignment.

Can you review information from another country?

This depends on the jurisdiction, the availability and accessibility of relevant sources, and the agreed scope. We will discuss practical limitations before accepting an assignment and will not imply that unavailable records have been checked.

03 Reports & Timing

What will I receive at the end of the assignment?

The agreed written report will summarise the research undertaken, relevant findings, source references where available, inconsistencies identified and points that remain unresolved. The exact contents depend on the agreed scope and the information available.

We will clarify the intended report format and delivery method before the assignment is confirmed.

How long does research take?

There is no single delivery period for every request. The expected completion date or timeframe will be agreed in writing before work begins, taking account of the scope, complexity, source availability and information supplied.

If a material delay becomes apparent, we will communicate the revised expectation and any relevant next steps. A requested date is not confirmed until agreed with us.

What happens if information is unavailable or inconsistent?

We will distinguish between information located, information that appears inconsistent and matters that could not be established from the sources reviewed. A lack of available information does not, by itself, prove that a statement is true or false.

Where a limitation materially affects the agreed assignment, we will explain it and discuss whether a revised scope is appropriate.

Can I request additional work after receiving a report?

Yes, you may ask about additional checks, clarification or an expanded research scope. Any additional work, fee and revised delivery date must be agreed before that work begins. It is not automatically included in the original assignment.

04 Fees & Cancellation

How are fees determined?

The fee depends on the requested scope, expected research effort, source availability and any agreed additional work. The applicable price and payment arrangements will be communicated before you agree to proceed.

No price should be assumed from submitting an enquiry alone. Any change to the agreed scope that affects the fee will be discussed before the additional work is undertaken.

Can I cancel an assignment?

Please contact us as soon as possible using the details on our Contact page. We will review the assignment status, the agreed terms and any work already undertaken when considering the cancellation.

Where applicable, consumers entering into a distance service contract generally have a 14-day statutory cancellation period beginning on the day after the contract is entered into. Exceptions and rules concerning services started during that period may apply. Any request to begin work early and the required acknowledgements must be handled in accordance with applicable law. Read the relevant UK regulations.

How are refunds handled?

Refund eligibility depends on the circumstances, the agreed terms and any applicable statutory rights. Where a refund is due, the amount and processing arrangements will be confirmed to the customer.

For eligible cancellations under the applicable consumer cancellation rules, refunds are generally due within 14 days of the trader being informed of the cancellation, subject to the relevant legal provisions. This does not remove any other applicable consumer rights.

05 Information & Privacy

Which sources may be used in research?

Depending on the agreed scope, research may use publicly available company records, published business information and relevant materials lawfully supplied by the client. The sources used will depend on the subject and jurisdiction.

We do not claim to have accessed a source or verified a fact unless the work undertaken supports that statement.

How do you handle information I submit?

Information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection requirements. Please provide only information relevant to your request and ensure you have an appropriate basis for sharing documents or details relating to other people.

How can I make a request about my personal data?

You can contact us to exercise applicable data protection rights. We may need to verify your identity or clarify the request where reasonably necessary. Requests will be handled without undue delay and within the applicable legal time limit.

Under the usual UK GDPR framework, a response to a subject access request is generally due within one month, with certain extensions permitted by law in qualifying cases. See ICO guidance.

How current are the findings?

Findings reflect the sources reviewed and the information available at the time the research was carried out. Company records and business circumstances may change after a report is completed. Unless separately agreed, the report does not represent continuous monitoring or a guarantee that the information will remain unchanged.

We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and provide a substantive response within 15 working days where reasonably practicable. If a more detailed review is required, we will explain the reason for the delay and provide an updated response timeframe.
