Research Services

Commercial information, carefully researched and clearly presented.

Company background research and commercial information verification, organised around the questions you need answered. Receive a structured written report showing the sources reviewed, the findings identified and the points that may require further checking.

Defined before work begins. The research scope, deliverables, fee and expected delivery date are confirmed before an assignment is accepted. Submitting an enquiry does not itself confirm an order or require payment.

& Information Review

01 / Company Information Relevant details and available records
02 / Source Comparison Sources reviewed and differences identified
03 / Findings & Limitations Supported findings and unresolved points

Illustrative design only. This is not a real client report, completed assignment or representation of findings about an actual company.

Our Approach

Specific questions. Defined research. A documented outcome.

Useful research starts with a clear question.

Commercial information can be spread across different records, company publications and other available sources. Our work brings relevant information together, compares details within an agreed scope and explains what the reviewed material does — and does not — establish.

Source-led Findings are connected to the information reviewed where references are available.
Scope-defined The checks, deliverables, fees and expected timing are agreed in advance.
Clearly reported Material differences, information gaps and unresolved points are distinguished from supported findings.
Research Services

Four ways to approach a commercial question.

Choose a focused check, a broader company review, research about a prospective business partner or a tailored assignment. The precise scope depends on your requirements, the agreed quotation and the availability of appropriate sources.

01 /

Company Background Research

A company-centred review intended to assemble a clearer picture of a business's published identity, recorded details and stated activities. This service is suited to clients who need an organised overview rather than a check of only one or two specific statements.

Research focus
  • Review of available company registration and status information.
  • Examination of published company descriptions and stated business activities.
  • Review of relevant public filings or company documents where available and within scope.
  • Comparison of selected company details across appropriate sources.
  • Identification of material information gaps or details that may require further checking.
What we need from you
  • The company's registered name and registration number, if known.
  • The country or jurisdiction in which it is registered.
  • The background questions or business details you want covered.
  • Relevant public links or documents you are entitled to provide.
02 /
Focused Comparison

Commercial Information Verification

A narrower assignment built around specific details or statements that you want compared with available records. Instead of attempting a broad company overview, the work concentrates on the selected information and records whether it agrees across the sources reviewed.

Information that may be checked

  • Company names and registration details.
  • Published business addresses and contact details.
  • Company descriptions or other agreed statements.
  • Selected details appearing in different records or publications.

How findings are presented

  • Details that agree across the sources reviewed.
  • Differences between records or published statements.
  • Information that could not be confirmed.
  • Source references and relevant limitations.
Information requested from the client
  • The exact details or statements to check and their original source, if known.
  • The relevant company name and jurisdiction.
  • Supporting material lawfully supplied for the agreed purpose.
  • The context needed to define which comparisons are relevant.
Item-by-item results Each agreed point is addressed separately.
Source comparison Relevant differences are identified.
Unconfirmed details Gaps are not presented as verified facts.

Commercial Context

Supplier & Business Partner Research

A defined review of available information about a prospective supplier, customer or other commercial partner. The assignment is shaped around the client's stated business questions and helps organise relevant information before further enquiries or decisions are made.

Possible research areas
  • Published company identity and business information.
  • Relevant registration and status details available from suitable sources.
  • Comparison of selected company information across sources.
  • Compilation of findings relevant to the proposed commercial relationship.
  • Identification of inconsistencies and questions that may merit follow-up.
Information requested from the client
  • Target company name and registration jurisdiction, if known.
  • The nature of the proposed commercial relationship.
  • The questions the research should address.
  • Relevant documents or links available to the client.
Typical report emphasis

Business Partner Research Report

A concise, question-led report designed to keep the relevant information and outstanding questions easy to locate.

01 Company overview
Relevant published identity and business details.
02 Relevant findings
Information connected to the client's stated questions.
03 Points to consider
Source differences, gaps and questions for follow-up.
The structure shown is illustrative. Actual report contents depend on the accepted brief and available evidence.

Bespoke Commercial Research Reports

A tailored assignment for requirements that combine several research questions, involve more than one company or need a particular report structure. The work is defined individually rather than treated as an automatic extension of a standard check.

01. Research brief Clarify the objective, target entities and questions to address.
02. Agreed scope Identify the checks, available sources and exclusions.
03. Report structure Agree the sections and presentation appropriate to the assignment.
04. Delivery plan Confirm fees, expected timing and the agreed delivery format.
Information requested from the client
  • A clear research objective and description of the required outcome.
  • The company or companies to be reviewed and relevant jurisdictions.
  • Any material lawfully available for review.
  • The requested deadline, preferred format and specific reporting requirements.
Timing & Delivery

Know the timeframe and format before work begins.

Research time depends on the number of questions, the companies involved, source accessibility and the amount of comparison required. The applicable scope, fee, delivery format and expected date are confirmed in writing before the assignment is accepted.

Planning estimates, not automatic guarantees. The periods shown are indicative estimates for standard assignments. They should only be published if they reflect the company's actual operating capacity. The confirmed date in the accepted quotation takes precedence.
Focused Information Check

A limited set of clearly specified details compared against available sources.

2–3 working days
Company Background Report

A broader review of company records, published information and relevant comparisons.

3–5 working days
Supplier or Partner Research

A defined review involving several information points and a structured written summary.

4–6 working days
Bespoke or Multi-Company Assignment

A wider scope, multiple targets or additional comparison requirements.

Individually agreed

When does the delivery timeframe start?

  1. The research scope, deliverables, fee and expected delivery date have been agreed in writing.
  2. The assignment has been accepted under the applicable terms.
  3. The information reasonably required to begin the agreed work has been received.
  4. Any agreed advance payment or other stated start condition has been satisfied.

The start date and expected completion date will be confirmed for the individual assignment. Weekends, public holidays and material delays caused by inaccessible sources or missing information are taken into account when agreeing or revising the timeframe.

01 / FORMAT

Structured written report

The proposed standard format is an electronic PDF containing the agreed research scope, relevant findings, source references where available and material limitations. Any alternative format must be agreed in advance.

02 / DELIVERY

Electronic email delivery

The report is sent to the email address agreed for the assignment. The client should ensure the address is correct and accessible. Another delivery method may be agreed in writing where appropriate.

03 / DELAYS

Updates if timing changes

If a material delay becomes apparent, the client will be informed of the reason and the revised expected date. Additional work or a changed scope may require a separate quotation and revised timeframe.

After Delivery

A clear route for report feedback.

Once the report has been delivered, clients can raise questions about the agreed scope, report structure, source references or an apparent omission. Feedback is reviewed against the original assignment.

01 /

Send your feedback

Contact us by email or through the contact page. Include the assignment reference, if available, the relevant report section and a clear description of the point you would like reviewed.

02 /

Review against the agreed brief

We review the feedback against the accepted scope and the material used for the report. If clarification is needed, we may ask for further details before completing the review.

03 /

Explain the outcome

We explain whether the point concerns clarification, a potential omission within the agreed scope or a request for additional research beyond the original assignment.

04 /

Agree any next step

Where an agreed-scope correction or clarification is appropriate, the action and expected timing will be communicated. Additional research, new questions or a wider scope may require a separate quotation and the client's approval before work proceeds.

Feedback timing: Please raise report-related feedback as soon as reasonably practicable after delivery and identify the relevant section clearly. Any specific response or correction timeframe should be stated in the accepted service terms or assignment confirmation. This process does not remove any applicable statutory rights or replace the complaints procedure.
The Commissioning Process

From your initial question to the final report.

Each assignment has a defined starting point, agreed commercial terms and a documented delivery plan. An enquiry is the beginning of the discussion, not confirmation that work has been commissioned.

STEP 01

Submit your requirements

Tell us which company or companies are involved, what information you want reviewed and the context of your research request.

STEP 02

Receive a defined quotation

We review the requested work and confirm the proposed scope, deliverables, fee, expected timing, delivery format and applicable terms for your consideration.

STEP 03

Accept and start the assignment

Work begins only after the assignment has been accepted, required information has been received and any agreed start conditions have been met.

STEP 04

Receive the written report

The report is delivered by the agreed method. Relevant findings, source references where available and material limitations are recorded within the accepted scope.

Discuss a Research Requirement
Scope & Limitations

Understand what the research can establish.

Research findings must be read in the context of the agreed questions, the sources available and the time at which the review was conducted. Clear boundaries help set realistic expectations.

What the research may include

Subject to the accepted quotation, lawful access and suitable sources:

  • Publicly available company records and published business information.
  • Relevant company documents lawfully supplied by the client.
  • Comparison of specified details across available sources.
  • Written findings and source references where available.
  • Identification of discrepancies, gaps and information that could not be confirmed.
  • A report structured around the agreed research questions.

What the research does not guarantee

Unless a separate, lawful service is expressly agreed, the research does not:

  • Guarantee that every third-party source is complete, accurate or current.
  • Establish facts that cannot be supported by the information available.
  • Predict future company performance or guarantee a commercial outcome.
  • Replace legal advice, statutory audits or professional financial advice.
  • Automatically constitute a regulated credit assessment, formal AML/KYC verification or certification.
  • Provide continuous monitoring or updates after report delivery.
  • Include investigative methods, restricted records or personal data processing outside the agreed lawful scope.

Research is limited to the accepted scope and the information sources appropriately available for review. Findings reflect the material available at the time of research. Company records and published information may change after delivery, and some matters may remain unresolved where reliable evidence is unavailable. Any additional work must be discussed and agreed separately before it proceeds.

Questions & Answers

Before you commission a report.

Find out what to provide, how an assignment is confirmed and what to expect from the report and follow-up process.

Ask a Question
What information should I provide in my enquiry?

Provide the target company's name, registration number or jurisdiction if known, the specific information you want reviewed and the intended commercial context. You may also provide relevant public links or documents you are entitled to share. The exact requirements will be confirmed during scoping.

Is submitting an enquiry the same as placing an order?

No. An enquiry allows us to understand and assess the request. An assignment is accepted only after the scope, deliverables, fee, expected timeframe and applicable terms have been confirmed and accepted in writing. Any agreed payment or other start conditions must also be satisfied.

How do the four research services differ?

Company Background Research provides a broader company overview. Commercial Information Verification focuses on specified details and differences between sources. Supplier & Business Partner Research organises information around a proposed commercial relationship. Bespoke Commercial Research is individually scoped for combined, multi-company or otherwise tailored requirements. The final scope is confirmed in the quotation.

Are the published delivery periods guaranteed?

The periods shown are indicative planning estimates. The expected date for an individual assignment is confirmed in writing before work starts. Timing may depend on the completeness of the information supplied, source availability and the agreed scope. If a material delay becomes apparent, we will communicate the reason and a revised expected date.

What format will I receive?

The proposed standard format is an electronic PDF sent by email to the agreed contact address. The report structure follows the accepted brief and may include the agreed findings, relevant source references and material limitations. An alternative format must be agreed before the assignment begins.

What if a detail cannot be verified?

Where relevant to the agreed scope, the report will distinguish supported findings from information that conflicts, is incomplete or could not be confirmed. We will not present an unsupported statement as an established finding. Further research may be possible, but work outside the original scope may require a separate quotation.

Can I request a change after research has started?

Please submit scope changes in writing. We will review the proposed change and explain any effect on the deliverables, fee and expected completion date. Additional work will proceed only after the revised scope and any applicable charges have been agreed.

What if I have feedback after receiving the report?

Contact us with the assignment reference if available, the relevant report section and a description of your concern. We will review the point against the agreed brief and explain whether it calls for clarification, an in-scope correction or additional research. The applicable service terms and complaints procedure continue to apply.

Can I cancel an assignment or request a refund?

Cancellation and refund requests are handled under the applicable terms, taking account of the assignment stage, any properly applicable charges and relevant statutory rights. The applicable conditions should be provided before you commit. Please refer to the Terms & Conditions or contact us if you need clarification.

Does the report remain current after delivery?

The report reflects the sources available at the time of review. Records and published information may subsequently change. Continuous monitoring or later updates are not included unless a separate arrangement is expressly agreed.

Start With Your Question
